MARILYN MONROE PHOTO EXHIBITION  - AUGUST 2012

 

 

 

Marilyn Monroe by Eve Arnold, an Exhibition of exclusive limited edition photographs will be launched at Bonnefin Gallery in Sydney and will be open to the public.

 

Marilyn Monroe’s life was captured in hundreds of famous images. Four decades after her death a collection of previously unseen photographs were put on show for a short time in the Halcyon Gallery London. This remarkable collection of Limited Edition photographs after being London, and Perth will be shown for the first time in Sydney, Australia.

 

Portraits of the Hollywood goddess, as a young starlet attending a Premiere and as an established actress struggling to learn her lines for the her last film are among 28 previously unpublished photographs made available by Eve Arnold the photojournalist who forged a unique friendship with the troubled star in the 1950’s.

 

The Exhibition will also feature other photographs of Marilyn Monroe. Set in Bonnefin Gallery at 50 Pitt Street in Sydney this exhibition will also include a moving catalogue, story boards, a limited edition Marilyn catalogue, a Marilyn 'coffee table' book, feature live entertainment along with an exclusive jewellery show featuring limited pieces especially designed for the exhibition by Lili Koos.

 

The Exhibition will have a wide appeal, attracting art collectors, art curators, photographers, social set of Sydney, Eve Arnold followers, regular visitors of the Gallery, and of course the many Marilyn fans of all ages. The Exhibition is about luxury, pleasure and the perfect opportunity for visitors to be inspired and excited by these magical images and simply enjoy the cultural experience!

JOHN DOWNTON EXHIBITION

The amazing talent of John Downton is exemplified in this virtual retrospective.  John's magnificent landscapes draw you in - you really do think you are there!  His wonderful seas and maritime images exude movement and mood.  The beautiful detail he captures in his fauna and floral is incredible and the characters portrayed in his paintings are real and typical.

John is not just a wonderful traditional artist, but also produces the most amazing abstracts and humerous images.  It is not hard to understand why he is regarded not just in Australia, but worldwide as one of the greats!

The paintings of Pete Martin have evolved over the years engaging and intriguing the public with images of cows on freeways and in the outback.  Taking his inspiration from personal experience using the mundane and abstract to tell stories and send messages he has created a unique style, beautiful and engaging.
